Three Region Shiraz
2004 Three Region Shiraz
This wine combines the best qualities of the three regions with the spiciness of the Adelaide Hills, fruitiness of the Adelaide Plains and richness of Langhorne Creek. This recent release closely follows the outstanding 03 that was awarded 4 and half stars in both Winestate Magazine and Halliday's Wine Companion; Decanter magazine also place it in the top 20 Shiraz wines of Australia. Particular characteristics of this wine are the gentle soft tannins complimenting well balanced, mouth filling fresh fruit, leading to a long finish. This wine has gained a strong following in Europe where elegance and intensity are cherished, and the outstanding feature is the clean fresh fruit flavours that do not rely on raw oak characters to add character and intensity.
At the 2006 Australia Day tasting in London, Decanter Magazine highlighted the 2004 Leabrook Shiraz as an example of why Australia is still the world leader in the variety.
