Pinot Noir

2004 Pinot Noir

The 2004 Pinot is a more robust wine than the 2003 having strong cherry and plum flavours and aroma, with a mouth filling middle palate. The wine retains the elegance of Leabrook Estate wines and is developing into a complex and classic wine that should develop for many years and mellow as well as the 1999 and 2002 vintages that give extra benefits to those who can cellar wines to give their full and ultimate potential.

2003 Pinot Noir

Leabrook Estate Pinot Noir is sourced from the estate's own vineyards that are based on the French close planted low yield theories. This enables intense fruit flavours to be achieved without relying on over ripe alcoholic fruit characters, retaining excellent acid balance, elegance gained from optimum picked Pinot Noir, and a long complex finish on the palate. The 2003 vintage was not the best in Australia so to preserve quality we have chosen only the very best barrels of Pinot, culling by two thirds and produced a wine of quality and finesse to a standard acceptable to the Leabrook Estate label. We have not classified this as "Reserve" and priced it accordingly, however you can be assured of a quality wine at an extremely attractive price that should live for many years. The tannins are not harsh and the fruit middle palate is clean and fresh, and many have already acclaimed it as one of their favourites.
